    • Mr. Herbert Eugene Railey, 57

      CHESTER - The funeral for Mr. Herbert Eugene Railey of 2862 Thorogood Lane was conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at West Chester Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Williams and the Rev. David Sealy officiated and burial followed in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

      Mr. Railey, 57, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at his residence.

      Born in Chester on Feb. 19, 1947, he was a son of the late Thomas Earl Railey and Eva Matthews Railey. A member of Purity Presbyterian Church, Mr. Railey attended West Chester Baptist Church and graduated from Chester High School. A retired lab technician with ChemTrade Logistics of Leeds, Mr. Railey served in the South Carolina National Guard and was a member of the Chester Drag Racing Association. He was also active in Little League Baseball.

      Survivors include his wife, Donna Jean Wilks Railey; a son, Rick Railey of Chester; a daughter, Angie Railey White of Blackstock; a stepdaughter, Amy Yandell Jones and her husband, Kevin, of Rock Hill; a stepson, Whit Fleming and his wife, Alicia, of Chester; one grandson; and a brother, Hennies Railey and his wife, Mary, of Chester.

      Memorials may be made to West Chester Baptist Church Building Fund, 1898 Pinckney Road, Chester or to Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 610 Calvary Church Road, Chester.

      Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, was in charge of arrangements.
