- Mitzi Hasel Stevens, 73, of Palatka, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Palatka Health Care Center.
Born in Jacksonville, Mitzi was handicapped since she was 5 months old. She lived with her parents until she was 33 years old and then lived at Mullis Manor in Folkston, Georgia until moving to Palatka in 1989. Mitzi had been a resident of Palatka Health Care Center since 1989.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mit and Helen Stevens and a nephew, Johnny Bedenbaugh.
Mitzi is survived by a sister, Toby Bedenbaugh and husband Jerry, 2 nephews, Jeff Bedenbaugh and wife Pam and Jed Bedenbaugh, all of Palatka, 4 great-nephews, Justin Bedenbaugh, Austen Bedenbaugh, Jordan Bedenbaugh and Mit Bedenbaugh, 3 great-nieces, Jennifer Frunzi and husband Jeff, Lyndsey Ricks and husband D.J. and Jerri Mae Bedenbaugh and a great-great-niece, Miley Sweat.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday October 9, 2015 at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville with Rev. Michael Hudson officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. in the home of Toby and Jerry Bedenbaugh at 335 Horseman Club Road in Palatka.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, 380 Boys Ranch Road, Palatka, FL 32177.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. K.K. Singh and all the staff at Palatka Health Care Center for the loving care extended to Mitzi over the past 26 years.
