    Gracie F. Johnson, 98, a life-long resident of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, February 28, 2020 at her residence after an extended illness.

    She was born on December 28, 1921 in Lake City to the late Amon George Robinson and Alpha Alice Dicks Robinson.

    She lived in Lake City all her life and was known for working at most of the Soda Fountain Shops and for her cooking here in Lake City most of her life. She was a member of the Lake City Church of God and in her spare time, she enjoyed walking, cooking, dancing and fishing.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Johnson; her children, Jerry Johnson, Seeber Ray Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson Hill and Mary Evelyn Johnson; granddaughter, Fritzi Hill, great-granddaughter, Reneé Waltrip Faulkner and ten siblings.

    She is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Waltrip (Greg), Wendy Jordan (Robert), Mitzi Hill, Jonathan Hill, Tim Johnson (Kaite), Julie Johnson Carswell (Link), Charlie Shaw, Jerry Johnson, Jr. and Jennifer Johnson. Twenty-two great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren also survive.

    A time of visitation and gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday evening, March 2, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

    Private family interment services will follow on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

    In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be considered to the American Cancer Society.

    Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Hill, 69, died on Thursday, November 11, 2010 after an extended illness.

    She was the daughter of Carl & Gracie F. Johnson, and has been a life long resident of Columbia County. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and devoting time to her family. She was a faithful member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Lake City, as well as co owner of the family business, FJ Hill Construction.

    She is preceded in death by her daughter, Fritzi S. Hill-Stuart, her sister, Mary Evelyn Johnson-Shaw and her father, Carl Johnson.

    Survivors include her mother, Gracie Johnson of Lake City, FL; husband, Frederick J. Hill of Lake City, FL; son, Frederick J. (Kendra) Hill II of Lake City, FL; daughters, Lisa Hill (Greg) Waltrip of Lake City, FL, Wendy Hill (Robert) Jordan of Mountain Gilead, NC, and Mitzi Hill (Marty) Law of Lake City, FL; brothers, Seeber Ray (Anetta) Johnson & Jerry Carl Johnson both of Lake City, FL; 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews also survive.

    Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home 3596 U.S. Hwy 441 South, Lake City, FL 32025 (386) 752-1954.

    Flowers are welcome but memorials may be made to the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) 6037 U.S. Hwy 90 West, Lake City, FL 32055.

    Mr. Seeber Ray Johnson, 71, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Health Center of Lake City Following an extended illness. He was born March 16, 1944 in Union County, Florida. He served in the United States Army as an Air Bourn Ranger in Vietnam.

    He returned to Lake City to work in purchasing at the VA Hospital until he retired. He also worked as an electrician for Norton Home Builders. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with friends and family, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Johnson; his wife Annetta Johnson and his two sisters, Liz Hill and Mary Shaw.

    He is survived by his mother, Gracie Johnson, one daughter Julie Carswell (Linc), one son Tim Johnson (Katie), one brother, Jerry Johnson, Sr. all of Lake City, FL. seven grandchildren also survive Alexis Hartsfield (Brian), Tallahassee, FL; Walker Johnson, Caleb, Carlie, and Kylie Carswell, Jackson and Maddyn Johnson, all of Lake City. and one great grandchild Hampton Hartsfield, He is also, survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services were conducted at 11 A.M. on Saturday August 15, 2015 at Mount Carmel Baptist with Reverend Richard Cason officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor cemetery in Lake City, FL.

    MARY SHAW OBITUARY
    Mrs. Mary Evelyn Shaw, 58, resident of Summerfield, Fl, and former resident of Lake City, died at Avalon Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lake City Monday night, July 5, 2004 after an extended illness.

    Mrs. Shaw was a native of Lake City, Fl., daughter of the late Seeber Carl Johnson and Gracie Robinson Johnson and had made her home in Summerfield, Fl. for the past three years. Prior to Summerfield, she had made her home in Lake City most for most of her life. She was a graduate of Columbia High School, class of 1965, a member of The Suwannee River Church of The Nazarene in White Springs, Fl., and enjoyed fishing, football games and gardening.

    Survivors include; One son, Charles Shaw (Karen), White Springs, her mother, Gracie F. Johnson, Lake City, two brothers, Seeber Ray Johnson (Anetta), Lake City, and Jerry L. Johnson, Lake City. One sister, Elizabeth Hill (Fritz), Lake City, three grandchildren, Bre’Anne Shaw, Lake City, Cale Shaw, Lake City, Levi Shaw, White Springs, Fl. and one step granddaughter also survive.

    Graveside Memorial Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, July 9, 2004 at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, South of Lake City, with Reverend, Carroll Lee, Pastor of The Lake City Church of God officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Suwannee Valley, 618 SW Florida Gateway Drive, Lake City, Fl, 32024.     Mr. Jerry Lee Johnson, Sr., 69 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.

    Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Lake City and a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1966. Mr. Johnson was also a graduate of the Florida Barber College in 1968 and had worked for the Blanche Barber Shop and the VA Hospital. He was also the owner of Jerry L. Johnson Construction in Lake City. He was a veteran of the United States Army and he retired from the Florida National Guard. Mr. Johnson was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church, the Lake City Masonic Lodge #27, the Scottish York Rite, the Lake City Shrine Club, the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge of Lake City #893 and the Pounds Hammock Hunting Club.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Seeber Carl Johnson and three siblings, Alice Elizabeth Johnson Hill, Mary Evelyn Johnson Shaw and Seeber Ray Johnson.

    Survivors include his two children, Jerry Lee Johnson, Jr. (Michelle), Trenton and Jennifer Lynn Johnson Joseph, Blackshear, GA; his mother, Gracie Johnson, Lake City; four grandchildren, Walker Lee Johnson, Lake City, Michael Austin Joseph, Blackshear, Ashleigh Kate Joseph and Anna Grace Joseph all of Blackshear, GA; the mother of his children, Kate Johnson Burch (Dailey), Gainesville.

    Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Rodriguez and Rev. Larry Sweat officiating.

    Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

    Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday from 2-3:00 PM at the funeral home.
