Stella Norris
Stella Norris, 84, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dwayne Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home, 5750 HWY 277 South, from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday for visitation.
Stella was born on October 20, 1919 in Lake City, Columbia, Florida the daughter of Ben Wheeler and Janie Robinson Wheeler. She married W.C. Norris on December 4, 1940 and his work brought them to Abilene in 1950. Stella loved her grandkids and loved being a part of their many activities. She loved football and cooking for everyone. She had the ability to encourage and comfort those around her and was a source of strength to everyone she knew.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Norris of Abilene, Essie Bright and husband Charles of Brownwood; one son and daughter-in- law, Steve and Sharon Norris of Rowlett; two brothers, Clyde Wheeler of Lake City, Fl and Kyle Wheeler of Jacksonville, Fl; five grandchildren, Chad Norris & wife Laurie of Forney, Brian Norris & wife April of Ft. Worth, Jody Norris of Arlington, Angie Howell & husband Kevin of Abilene, and Rick Sparks & wife Terri of Arlington; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, two sisters, and three brothers.

Alice Marie Norris, 71, passed from this life on June 5, 2015 in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 till 7:00 PM, Monday, June 8, 2015 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Graveside Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Alice Marie Norris was born March 4, 1944 in Lake City, Florida to William Charles Norris and Stella Norris. She moved to Ballinger, Texas when she was in the 2nd grade and later moved to Abilene. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1962. She worked at Zenith Cleaners, Timex, Texas Instruments and retired as office manager for Dr. Mark Orth D.D.S
Alice was a friend to all she met and was the guardian angel to many. She enjoyed cooking for the family, especially cakes and was not afraid to try a new recipe. She always said, "someone would eat it". Her pride and joys were her nephews, nieces, great nieces, and great nephews. She loved watching them in their sports, plays, and school activities.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Charles Norris; her mother, Stella Norris; and her brother, Steve Norris.
She is survived by her sister, Essie Bright of Abilene; her sister-in-law, Sharon Norris of Rowlett; her nieces and nephews, Richard Sparks and wife Terri, Angela Howell and husband Kevin, Jody Norris, Chad Norris and wife Laurie, Brian Norris and wife April; her great nieces and nephews, Jeremy Sparks, Makenzie Kelley, Megan Sparks, Justin and Jon Howell, Jasmine Norris, Christian and Chase Norris, Nolan, Nylah, Neely, Nash and Nixon Norris.

Steve Norris, age 62 of Rowlett, TX, passed away November 28, 2011. He was born July 29, 1949, in Lake City, FL, to William Charles and Stella (Wheeler) Norris. Mr. Norris was an Accounts Manager for Carquest Auto Parts. He was a member of The Corvette Club of Texas and loved cars, boating and racing. He also loved vacations with his family and spending time with his grandkids.
Mr. Norris is survived by his wife: Sharon Norris of Rowlett, TX; sons: Jody Norris of Arlington, TX, Chad Norris & wife Laurie of Rowlett, TX, and Brian Norris & wife April of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren: Jasmine, Christian, Chase, Nolan, Nylah, and Neely Norris; future grandson: Nash Norris, due in April, 2012; sisters: Alice Norris of Abilene, TX, and Essie Bright of Comanche, TX; brother-in-law: Owen Smedley & wife Becky of Abilene, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, 621 North Hall Street, Dallas, TX, 75226.
