    Mrs. Norma Jean Dicks, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, at Solaris Healthcare, Lake City, FL surrounded by her loving family.

    Norma Jean was born in Lake City, FL to the late Norman Monroe and Corine Leila Witt. She attended Mason City School and married her husband, Clinton F. Dicks, Jr. in 1954. After being wed the couple started farming in Columbia County and then moved briefly to Jacksonville, FL before returning home and opening D & C General Store in 1959 where they made many lifelong friends. Norma Jean worked in the family store until the early 1970’s and then went to work for Clay Electric where she retired after 25 years. She was an active member of Hopeful Baptist Church and was a devoted Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. Norma Jean served on many committees for the church, including the building committee and the baptismal committee. She also witnessed to young married couples to set them on a Godly path. Norma Jean loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved tending to her flowers, looked forward to the annual family beach trip, and spending summers at their river cabin.

    She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carolyn Mann.

    Norma Jean is survived by her husband, Clinton F. Dicks, Jr.: one son, Terry Dicks (Joyce) of Lake City, FL: grandchildren, Clint T. Dicks (Samantha) and Kyle Dicks (Jessica) both of Lake City, FL: great grandchildren, Karleigh, Kooper, Kolton, and Kase Dicks: two sisters, Helen June Roberts (Bill) of Trenton, FL and Diane Guerry (Bill) of Macclenny, FL. Numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends also survive.

    A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Dicks will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, December 9th in the Hopeful Baptist Church, Lake City, FL with Pastor Billy Young, Pastor Larry Sweat, Rev. Ralph Rodrigues and Rev. Gary Crawford, officiating.

    Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 8th at the church.

    Interment will follow the funeral services in Hopeful Cemetery, Lake City, FL.

    Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, FL has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in memory of Norma Jean Dicks.

    Mrs. Carolyn Witt Mann, 74, of Lake City, Fla. following a long illness. She had resided in the Ellisville community of Columbia County all of her life and was the daughter of the late Norman Monroe Witt and Lelia Corine Cox Witt. She and her late husband, Marion H. Mann, owned and operated Mann Farms in the Ellisville community for many years. She attended the Mason City School and was a registered nurse graduating with honors from Lake City Community College in 1971. She was a member of the Christian Heritage Church and a former Sunday School Teacher at Everybody's Tabernacle Assembly Church of God, Ellisville, Fla. for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #25T of Trenton, Fla. and enjoyed gardening and viewing antiques.

    She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Joyce Mann of Jacksonville, Fla.; Two grandchildren, Jonathan Mann of Jacksonville, Fla. and Sarah Mann of New York City, N.Y.; Three sisters, Norma Jean Dicks of Lake City, Fla., Helen June Roberts of Trenton, Fla. and Diane Guerry of Macclenny, Fla.; Three blessed caregivers, Rankie Mack, Wendy Bashman and Della Cox; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Hopeful Baptist Church with Rev. Marjorie Patterson officiating and assisted by Rev. Chris Jones, Pastor of Christian Heritage Church. Interment will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Columbia County, Fla. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 P.M.
