    • Laurie Burton Moree, 86, beloved husband of Martha Jeneal Wildes Moree, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday afternoon, May 1, 2010 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

      Mr. Moree, the son of John Sullivan Moree and Corrie Lee Flowers Moree, was born October 24, 1923, in Andrews, SC. He was a highly decorated WW II Army Veteran including the EAME with 2 bronze service stars and the World War II Victory Medal.

      He was a retired sign painter for International Paper Company, Georgetown Mill where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a charter member of the Williamsburg Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a church musician and singer for many years.

      Burton and Jeneal were married December 20, 1947, and celebrated 62 years together. From their blessed union survives a son, Lynn (Vicky) Moree; and a grandson, Chadwick Russell Moree. Also surviving are: three brothers, John Billy (Betty) Moree, Donald Benton (Martha) Moree, and Gerald Wayne (Celeste) Moree; and a sister, Isabell McCants; a number of neices and nephews.

      Graveside service will be 11 AM Wednesday morning May 5, 2010 in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

      Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

      Memorials may be made to the Tidelands Community Hospice House or the Meals on Wheels Program. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Moree family. Online condolences may be sent to McKenzieFH.com.
