- David Riley Green, 64, a resident of Lake City, Florida passed away December 16, 2008 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center Lake City, Florida.
Mr. Green was a lifelong resident of Lake City, Florida and is the son of the late Riley Ellis and Carmen Loraine Green. Mr. Green had retired from the Dept. of Transportation after twenty years of service. He was a member of the Lake City Moose Lodge # 624 and currently was the Governor of the Lodge and had received his Pilgrim degree from the lodge. He was also in the Florida National Guard for thirty years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He also enjoyed farming and loved his annual sugar cane grinding
He is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Spider Meisky.
Survivors include his wife, Amelia Wynell Green, Lake City, Fl. Two daughters Lori Ann (Vernon) Berry and Stefanie (Keith) Jackson both of Lake City, Florida. One step daughter: Marinell Treverrow, Lake City, Fl. and one Step Son: Terry Townsend, Lake City, Fl. Two sisters: Rachel Mabile and Elaine (Bill) Webb, both of Lake City, Fl. Five grandchildren, Addie Berry, Travis Berry, Morgan Jackson, Samantha Jackson and Kade Jackson all of Lake City, Fl. Six Step Grandchildren, Lauren Townsend, Jordan Townsend, Logan Townsend, Skyler Treverrow, Ethan Treverrow and Braxton Treverrow . One special nephew Shawn (Stephanie) Mayo and their children.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday December 19, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Shaw and the Rev. Ricardo Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday December 18, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
