- Alma Sikes Hodges Davis, 99, of Nahunta, GA died August 17, 2007 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick, following a brief illness.
Born on November 28, 1907 in Nassau Co, FL, her parents were Claude Sikes and Mora Dyal Sikes. She was also preceded in death by late husbands, David Bailey Hodges and Ezekiel "Zeke" Davis, 2 sons, Dean and Clyde Hodges, step-daughters, Dorothy Jones and Georgia Elaine Davis, a sister, Edna Cloytte and three grand daughters, Shirley Morris, Shirley Sikes and Barbara Jowers.
She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Hoboken. She had a great love for the Church and attended as long as she was able to go. She loved fishing and being around family.
She is survived by 6 Children, Cecil Hodges (Joann); Margie McCullough (Ray); Eleanor Sikes all of Hilliard, FL; Maxine Morgan (H.C.), Clinton Davis (Cheryl) and Stella Wilson (Cleve) all of Nahunta, GA.7 Step-children, Kathleen Johns of Hickox, GA; Joyce Gamble, Queenie Harvey both of Folkston, GA; Sarah Nazareth of Ludowici, GA; Rita Brown of Jacksonville, FL; Margie Crews of Folkston and Stanley Davis of Illinois; 3 Sisters, Etta Smith (Jimmy), Bertha Henderson and Ida Herlong, Yulee, FL; a Brother, George Sikes of AL; 51 Grandchildren, several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday evening (Aug. 18, 2007) starting at 6:00 p.m. at Chambless-Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
Funeral services will be held Sunday morning (Aug. 19, 2007) at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Hoboken, GA with Elder Reavis Hickox officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hickox, GA.
Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Anthony Hodges, Wayne Hodges, David McCullough, Troy Sikes, Craig Morgan and Aldene Hodges.
