- from Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia Vol. 6, pp. 43-44 1789 born in Noth Carolina 1794 taken by parents to Screven Co. Ga/ 1812 moved with Willis to Bryan Co. 1813 married 1822 moved back to Screven Co. 1827 "drew land as a Revolutionary soldier in 1827 land lottery" (Vol 1, p. 44) 1827 He and Willis sold out and moved to Ware Co. 1840 He, Willis, and their families moved to Hamilton Co. Fla. 1840 Later, he moved back to Camden Co into the part which became Charlton Co. in 1854 1847 First wife died 1849 in Camden Co. married Mrs. Elizabeth Yarbrough, widow of William Yarbrough 4 MAR 1856 died
"The fact that Willoughby Cason is shown in the 1850 Census of Camden County [Georgia] to be 50 years of age, proved to be a big stumbling block in research for a long time, until Mr. [E. L. ] Williams finally proved that the census age was wrong."
"Mr. Cason... was buried in the old Centerville Cemetery; grave unmarked."
