  	Joyce McLendon Yarborough State, The (Columbia, SC) - Friday, December 6, 2013 WEST COLUMBIA - Joyce McLendon Yarborough, 90, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Mrs. Yarborough was born November 2, 1923, in Dovesville, SC. She was a daughter of the late Angus Dencil McLendon and Fannie Mae McLendon Hicks. Mrs. Yarborough was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Hartman H. Yarborough Sr. Together they were the successful owners and operators of Yarborough Distributing Co., in Columbia, SC. She was a Charter Member of Providence Presbyterian Church and active in various church committees. A devoted loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Yarborough was also predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Y. Berry, and grandson, Scott P. Yarborough. Surviving are three of her four children, Hartman H. Yarborough, Jr. (Delle) of Lexington, SC, David W. Yarborough of West Columbia, SC, and Debbie M. Yarborough of Columbia, SC. She had eight siblings, three sisters and four brothers, of which only one brother, Lockhart McLendon of Texas survives her. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service followed by visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael T. Bragan and the Rev. Dr. Fran Bragan officiating. A private burial will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church, 1112 Hummingbird Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169 or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Hospice Care of Tri County for their care and support these past months.
