- SWEAT, George M., of Yulee, FL, age 77, passed away June 2, 2008. He was born December 3, 1930 in Waycross, GA to Joseph Johnson Sweat and Alice Marshall Sweat.
George served in the US Army and worked as a car inspector for the CSX Railroad for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR races.
George M. Sweat is survived by his wife of 38 years, Merle Virginia Sweat; children: Karen Sweat-Lewis (Steve), Andy Sweat (Mary) and Linda LiBrandi (John); step-daughter, Debarah Peck; sister, Laura Wainwright (Bill) of Baltimore, MD; 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation for Mr. George Sweat will be 1-3:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Edgewood Chapel. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday following the visitation at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Edgewood Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
