- Funeral services were held Monday, October 5 at Euphrates Baptist Church, Edgehill, for William Harold Wilcher, 61, of Louisville, who died Saturday, Oct. 3 at Jefferson Hospital. The Rev. Thurman Walden and the Rev. Tom Rountree officiated. Burial was in the Louisville City Cemetery.
Mr. Wilcher was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, and sanitation supervisor for the City of Louisville. He was a retired Civil Service employee, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and deacon of Euphrates Baptist Church, and a member of Stonewall Masonic Lodge No. 98, Louisville, Chapter 462 Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Bodies of Augusta, and Alee Shrine Temple, Savannah.
Survivors include his wife Ann R. Wilcher; his mother, Bessie F. Wilcher, Louisville; two sons, Danny Lamar Wilcher and Harold Walter Wilcher, both of Louisville; a stepson, John Michael Ridgdill, Twin City; a stepdaughter, Deborah Ann Lindsey, Fitzgerald; a brother, James Wilcher, Louisville; and two sisters, Mildred Bridges and Margaret Jordan, both of Augusta.
Grier Funeral Home, Louisville, was in charge of arrangements.
