Funeral services for Annie Ruth Dixon Wilks, 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ronnie Caulder will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home and also Friday at her residence. Mrs. Wilks, widow of Early Redmon Wilks, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Born in Chesterfield Co., SC, she was a daughter of the late Cord and Alice Odom Dixon. She was a member of Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are her sons, Randy (Gail) Wilkes of Hartsville, SC, Tony (Rose) Wilkes of Hartsville, SC; daughter, Judy (Roy) Fales of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Azalee Anderson of Mobile, AL, Doris Mellons of Kannapolis, NC, Carol West of Kannapolis, NC, Shirley (Harold) Wayne of Hartsville, SC; brothers, Melvin (Annie Mae) Dixon of Kershaw, SC, Everette (Clara) Dixon of Kannapolis, NC; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Ann Wilkes, brothers, J.C. Dixon, Levern Dixon, Pete Dixon, Hayward Dixon, and her sister Mary Dixon.
