    • Rebecca S. "Becky" Wilder
      (September 27, 1955 - February 21, 2010)

      Mrs. Rebecca S. Wilder, 54, a life long resident of Columbia County, died late Sunday evening, February 22, 2010 in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley following an illness of several months. Mrs. Wilder was the daughter of Howard Callahan and the late Audrey Duren Callahan. Mrs. Wilder was the co-owner and operator of Pope’s Grocery in Wilson Springs for many years. She was referred to by many as the “E-Mail Queen” for her daily communications and enjoyed buying and selling items on e-bay. She was recently preceded in death by her beloved German Shepherd “Jake”. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Branford Ward.

      Mrs. Wilder is survived by her husband of twenty years, David C. “Doc” Wilder; her father, Howard Callahan of Lake City; a brother, Ken Callahan (Connie) of Lake City and two sisters, Rhonda Porter (Gary) of Macon, Georgia and Teresa Wilkerson (Robert) of Fort White, Florida.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Wilder will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cannon Creek Ward (located on Sisters Welcome Road) with Bishop Charles Gagliano and Brother Mark Duren officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort White Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 Tuesday evening in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley, 6037 U.S. Highway 90 West, Lake City, Fl 32055.
