- Leonard Leon Wilkes, age 76, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at UNC hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2013 at Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Southern Pines with Rev. Don Ballenger officiating.
Burial will follow at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Hamlet.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 Pm at the funeral home before the service.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and turkey hunt.
He was preceded in death by his loyal companion of 15 years, Nipper.
He is survived by his sisters, Foyelea Wilkes McElroy of Arab, AL, Bonnie Wilkes Thomas of Pinebluff, NC and several nieces and nephews.
