Mrs. Alice M. Dicks, 67, of Lake City, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Clearwater, Florida, Mrs. Dicks had been a resident of Lake City for many years. She was the daughter of the late George and Lessie Simmons Flyth. Mrs. Dicks was employed as quality control inspector with General Electric Corporation for twenty-seven years before returning to college to earn her Certified Nursing Assistant degree. She worked locally as a C.N.A. until her ill health. Mrs. Dicks was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed fishing and "bargain" shopping. Mrs. Dicks was preceded in death by her husband, Farris Dicks and her daughter, Belinda Radford.
Mrs. Dicks is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Hale and her son, Terry Dicks (Beverly) all of Lake City; a brother, George Flyth (Vicki) and a niece, Casey Flyth all of Orlando, Florida. Eight grandchildren, Jennifer Charles, Alisha Minnich, Rocky Radford, Candice Radford, Tommy Robbins, Terri Ray Dicks, Timmy Dicks and Therin Dicks and eight great-grandchildren, Robert Radford, Tammy Cover, Alex Dolan, Robby & Robin Burney, Alexis Cason, Elijah Minnich and Hayden Dicks. A very special friend that made it possible for her to be at home, Sharon, so she got to do what she loved the most, which was fishing.
Memorial services for Mrs. Dicks will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, June 1, 2008 in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Pastor Fred McCray officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of DEES-PARRISH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 458 South Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida 32025 (386)752-1234.
