Robinson - James Robinson Sr. 1752-1832 whose wifes name was Mary (an Indian maiden of the Tuscarora tribe) moved to Wayne County Georgia in the early 1800s. Many of their descendants lived in what is now Charlton County Georgia. Robert Robinson born 11/22/1836 in Traders Hill, who served with the Okefenokee Rifles along with several brothers four of these brothers losing their life during the Civil war. Thanks to James Robinson descendant Roger Layton Crews for this information. Note: Greg Wainright may also be a descendant as James Wainwright (brother of Joseph) was supposedly married to James' grandaughter Nancy Robinson as his second wife. However, some sources cite Nancy Cooper as his 2nd wife. http://members.aol.com/gregwain5/native.htm
I tried to locate Roger Layton Crews in January, 2007 to ask him about Mary being an Indian maiden but discovered he had died in August, 2006. acw
From Folks Huxford, Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia, Volume 7, pages 349-350:
James Robinson, Sr., RS served as James Robson in the North Carolina militia in the Revolutionary War (see p 215, "Roster of North Carolina Soldiers in the American Revolution"), and in the 1827 Georgia land lottery, he drew land as a Revolutionary soldier as "James Roberson" of Wayne County (page 42 Reprint, Georgia Land Lottery 1827). He drew lot 402, 8th District of Appling (now Ware) county. The sons, James, Jr., and Wiley lived in Wayne County and son John in Appling County. The other sons evidently moved to GA after 1820. James and wife were living alone in the 1830 census of Wayne, each between 70 and 80 years old. Mrs. Ruth Robinson Moody of Nahunta, Georgia, was the first descendant of James Robinson, R.S. to be accepted on his record of service by the DAR. She was accepted April 14, 1973; her National number is 577937; she is a member of John Floyd Chapter, DAR. She descends through the son, James Jr., and the latter's son Mark. | Robinson, James Sr. (I1752)

Robinson shot through the heart
Tradgedy at Waycross Ga. Yesterday morning.
Seven men in the fight.
Henry Robinson and three of his brothers on one side and three McClellan brothers on the other,Henry Robinson killed.
Waycross Ga. November 29 1900
A beautiful Thanksgiving Day was made sad to many hearts because of the darkest tragedy occurring here in many years.
A fierce fight on the principal business street occurred about noon. Four of the Robinson boys, men who are noted for their physical manhood and daring, and three McClellans, equally as brave and courageous, were partcipants in the row. Early this morning Jesse McClellan was walking down Plant Avenue whe he met Matt, Curt, Jim and Henry Robinson near The First National Bank. Curt Robinson and McClellan engaged in the fight. McClellan's revolver was taken from him by Jim Robinson and Curt, being a powerful man physically and McClellan of slight build, soon got the best of the fracas.
All parties were put under bond to answer in the mayor's court for fighting and it was thought that the trouble had blown over.
About noon, while many were engaged in a union Thanksgiving service at the Presbyterian church, the trouble was renewed in front of the Waycross Journal Office and for several minutes a general fight caused ______ in the neighborhood.
Jesse McClellan's two brothers, T.J. and Newt were present and the wonder is more lives were not sacrificed. Just as the Robinsons were coming out of R. E. Jones grocery store Jesse McClellan passed by. Witnesses differ as to which started the row; but in a few minutes the Robinsons and McClellans were fighting like fury.
Jesse McClellan shot Henry Robinson through the heart, death following in a few minutes.
Matt and Jim Robinson were both badly bruised about their heads and faces. They recieved several heavy blows from Tom and Newt McClellan. None of the McClellans were seriously hurt.
T.J. McClellan is Ware County's Sheriff; Jesse McClellan, his deputy, and Newton J. McClellan a policeman.
The Robinsons are fighting stock. There are nine or ten brothers, all of whom will fight early and often.
N.F. Robinson, a brother of these men, was killed instantly three or four years ago at Traders Hill, just before Charlton Superior Court opened. He and Ben Williams met there to settle and old grudge and as Robinson advanced with an open knife Williams shot him through the heart.
Henry, the one who was killed today, was said to be the quietest one of the men, seldom ever getting into trouble.
He leaves a wife and nine children, the oldest one thirteen years of age.
The Robinsons wired for two other brothers Joe and Jess, who are in Savannah, and it is feared more trouble will follow when they arrive.
Deputy Sheriff Jesse McClellan, who did the shooting is under arrest. The dead man's body will be taken to Charlton County for burial. | Robinson, Henry (I10581)

Roger Greene was an emigrant to Virginia in 1635 on board the ship "Abraham", when he was aged 24, and was therefore born around 1610/11 [J.C. Hotten, Original Lists of Persons Emigrating to America 1600-1700,Chatto & Windus, 1874].
Roger Green is considered by some genealogists to be either the father or uncle of Timothy Green. Roger Green enrolled "Sizar" (meaning he enrolled as a student at reduced fees) at St. Catherine's, Cambridge, Easter of 1631. He received his B.A. 1634--35 and his M.A. 1638, ordained a priest 9 March 1638-39. He is next noted in Nansemond County, Virginia ministering to the inhabitants there. He is credited with founding North Carolina's first settlement in July 1653 on the bank of the Roanoke River, and on the south side of the Chowan and tributary streams. The grant reads as follows: "Upon the petition of Roger Green, Clerk (title applied only to ministers of the Church of England), on behalf of himself and the inhabitants of Nansemond River, it is ordered by the present Grand Assembly, that 10,000 acres of land be granted unto 100 such persons who shall first seat (settle) on the Moratuck or Roanoke Rivers and the branches thereof---provided that such seaters settle advantageously for security...... that there be granted the said Roger Green the rights of 1,000 acres of land. (Hening I, p.380)
Reverend Roger Green returned to England where on 2 September 1661, he presented a pamphlet to the Lord and Bishop of London, entitled"Virginia's Cure", in order to show the unhappy state of the Church in Virginia and the remedy of it. He was also one who examined into the competency of all ministers of the colony. He officiated at Jamestown, and was still living in 1671. Ronald E. (Ron) Boyer, 66, of Ashantilly, died June 24, 2014 while vacationing on Great Guana Cay, Abacos, Bahamas.
Ron was born January 20, 1948, in Ottawa, Kansas. He graduated from Ottawa Senior High School in 1966, where he held records in football as well as track and field. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 until 1972 attaining the rank of ADJ 3rd Class. While in the Navy, he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Following his military service, Ron settled in Brunswick, Ga., where he worked for Watch Security, later moving to Darien where he worked for Alltel and worked diligently to build his landscaping business, McIntosh Lawn Service.
Of all his interesting hobbies, Ron will perhaps be best remembered for his woodworking and culinary skills. His handcrafted clocks and cutting boards are true works of art, and anyone who has a piece of his handcrafted outdoor furniture is fortunate indeed. He not only enjoyed this hobby very much, he also enjoyed giving the items to friends and family and participating in arts and crafts festivals. In addition to his woodworking, abilities, he operated what was lovingly called "The Purple Turtle," a concession wagon from which he sold cotton candy, nachos, pickles and popcorn. After he gave up traveling to festivals, he often donated cotton candy to various schools and organizations.
Those who knew Ron know how he loved to cook. He especially loved cooking for a crowd, especially outdoor cooking. Whenever any new kitchen gadget came out, he would be one of the first to buy one. Many of his friends were blessed to receive jars of his home-canned tomatoes, salsa, and pickles as well as his famous homemade chex mix and beef jerky. Tournament fishing was another hobby he enjoyed with the Roadrunner Fishing Team.
Ron was and always will be known as a hard worker and a man with a heart of gold. He always tried to give back to his friends and to his community in any way he could. He was a past member of the Jaycees and the Lions Club, and was a football coach at The Boys Club in Glynn County.
Family was of utmost importance to Ron and the thing he loved and valued most.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Reddell and Nina Boyer; a son Casey Eugene Boyer; and father-in-law Clayton McWilliams, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda McWilliams Boyer, step-daughter, Carley Luke, and step-son Jake Luke, all of Ashantilly; a daughter, Julie Toler (Joe) and granddaughters Piper and Phenix of Mt. Pleasant, Ga.; a son, Brian Boyer (Theresa) and grandsons Luke and Brody and step-granddaughters Callie and Alyssa of Brunswick; a son, Justin Boyer of Darien and granddaughter A'layziah of Brunswick; a daughter, Liz Ferrell (Justin) and grandson Preston and granddaughter Sophie of Brunswick; a sister, Connie Morris (Steve); and a niece, Amanda Morris of Florence Colorado.
Visitation will be announced later. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, or to the charity of donor's choice.
