It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Calvin Baynes announces his passing on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the age of 86. He was a native of Huntsville, Alabama and resident of Poquoson for the past 34 years. Tom served his country through the USAF and Civil Service for 50 years.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Frankie Ann Baynes, and his sister, Faye Nicholson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bernice Baynes; daughters, Susan Smith (Ricky) and Jodi Matzeder (Mike); grandchildren, Jennifer Matzeder, J. T. Landry, and Abbie Landry; great-grandchild, Aiden McLean; and brothers, James Baynes and Jess Baynes.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, March 19, 7:00 -8:30PM at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson.

Burial will be private.
